Riverfront Pavilion
Project Summary
As one of the primary visual landmarks on Spokane’s skyline, the unique Pavilion in downtown’s Riverfront Park was in serious need of a lighting upgrade. Power City Electric was selected to assist with the design and installation of custom, high efficiency LED lighting with innovative controls that allow the light to render different colors for dramatic effect. Originally built as the U.S. Federal Pavilion for Expo ’74, the Pavilion was a gift to Spokane from the United States government. The Master Plan aimed to restore the Pavilion into a flexible use event space able to host everything from the Hoopfest Nike Court game and the Bloomsday Award Ceremony to a summer concert series and an outdoor giant screen film festival. Free Pavilion Light Shows are every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The design-build project has won sixteen international, national, and local awards honoring its innovative design, illumination, and service as a community gathering space.
